Nominate Someone Special for a Cupid Call

Do you know anyone who has had a run of bad luck of late? Perhaps they've been ill or feeling blue. Perhaps things have just not gone well or they have lost a loved one. Well this Valentine's Day you can nominate them for a Cupid Call.

“Never underestimate the power of kindness,”
states McCrumb “for little acts of thoughtfulness
often make the biggest difference.”
What's a Cupid Call you ask? Cupid Calls, sponsored by Ann Arbor gift gallery Catching Fireflies, are designed to give a recipients who could use it, a surprise smile.

Sending little presents to friends and family for Valentine’s Day has been a tradition for gift gallery owner, April McCrumb. This year though, she is expanding her cupid arrows to include deserving people across Michigan. McCrumb is looking for nominees who have had a hard holiday season, have health problems, lost someone special or just are struggling to smile.

Each package delivered will vary, but all the items sent will be selected from Catching Fireflies. McCrumb is excited to have the opportunity to brighten the days of people who could use it the most in nearby communities.
In all, one hundred nominated individuals may receive an anonymous package. So if you know someone in need of some extra love, and a free gift that would boost their spirits, read on for nomination details.

Nominating someone for a Cupid Care Package is as easy as sending an email to service@catchingfireflies.com with the subject line title: CUPID CALL. Include the nominee’s full name, age, mailing address and short paragraph why they need a cupid call. It would also be helpful to know a little about the person and what they like. Family Friendly Film Series: The Land Before Time

The Michigan Theater (603 E Liberty St, Ann Arbor) is hosting a free movies for kids 12 & under on January 12 at 1:30 p.m.

The Land Before Time focuses on an orphaned young dinosaur, Littlefoot, who has to make his way to the paradise of the Great Valley in order to survive a plague. Along the way, he meets up with some other dinos from different species, and they all bond and travel together. On the way, they have plenty of adventures. Even with elements of suspense, this is a pretty relaxed movie that isn’t in a particular hurry to roll out its story. Kids will like the originality of the concept, and the themes of friendship and cooperation.

Tickets are free for children 12 under, $10 for adults and $8 for seniors, students, older children and teens. This movie is rated G.
