With preschool open house events cropping up rather quickly, I put together a complete list of Ann Arbor preschool locations that includes the dates and times for parent open houses on AnnArbor.com.
For parents though, who would rather view many options for ealy childhood education under one roof, the January 30 Preschool Expo at the Palmer Commons on the University of Michigan campus (100 Washtenaw Ave., Ann Arbor 48109) is a great resource. The free event will feature many of the preschool, Montessori and nursery school options available throughout Ann Arbor, Ypsilanti, and Saline for the 2011-12 school year. Parents should plan to attend. Parking is also free.
News and information to busy Ann Arbor area families | Find free activities for toddlers, pre-school aged children, kids, and teens - Things-to-do, local discounts and Ann Arbor events. Parenting encounters, life lessons and reader "thoughts" or advice may also appear from time to time... What's there to do in Ann Arbor with kids? The Ann Arbor Mom can help you to figure that out!

Free Resource for Parents With Preschoolers Learning to Read
I found a great resource the other day - a free and fun story-based learning tool available for preschoolers to help them with their language development. The Social Language Story “Maddie Gets Ready for Bed” was created especially for young children learning language, including those who have language problems.
It's a free, web-based story can be read on-line or printed and used as a readable coloring book. It is being offered through the University of Michigan’s University Center for the Development of Language and Literacy.
Make sure to check back with the site often, as new story's will be released in the series!
