Junior Volunteers Club at the HSHV

Is your child inspired to volunteer? Does your child love animals? Then perhaps the Junior Volunteers Club of the Humane Society of Huron Valley would be an ideal program for your preteen/teen (Ages 12-17).

Each 6-session of the Junior Volunteers Club helps youth engage in and learn about volunteer opportunities at the animal shelter. Tens will work with various adults to learn different procedures, policies and safety precautions for working with and caring for animals. Each session consists of a 45-minute volunteer training program and 75 minutes of onsite volunteer time. Registered youth who attend all six sessions will receive twelve hours of volunteer time, which can be used towards required community service hours.

Upon completion of all six sessions, certified Junior Volunteers will have opportunities to volunteer at HSHV!

To fill out a Junior Volunteers Club application for the HSHV. Cost for this teen program is $105 although scholarship monies are available for those in need. Programs run Thursday evenings and during the day Saturday.
