Ann Arbor Summer Day Camp Information

Summer camp creates memories - swimming, crafts, sports,
or horseback riding  - of a lifetime!
Many parents are already searching for summer day camp options for their children, I know, I am one of those parents  It's exciting and scary. My son even wants to try an overnight camp this summer - I just don't know if I am ready for that.

  2. In case it's useful, the Arborparents e-mail list has a database of reviews of summer camps by parents who have sent their kids there. (It's free.)

    Arborparents is here:

  5. Hi!
There are also some great summer camps at the Humane Society of Huron Valley! You can check them out at hshv.org, then click on "education" and then "youth programs." Might be a great one to list!

    1. Thanks for posting. Saline's 212 Art Center does offer many great kids art classes, however I am not seeing them listing a summer camp option.

This post was created to highlight full and half-day camp options that are not located at child-care centers.

Summer enrichment programming is also an amazing thing though!

  7. One camp to avoid: the Theater and Arts Camp through the UM Childcare Center. It is taught by a very bias teacher Marissa (not from UM). She first judges your kids ability on the first day of the camp. If your kid is lucky to be her "favorite" kid, he/she can get 100+ lines in the script and solo songs. However, if unfortunately your kid is judged as "not ready", he/she will get only one or two lines and maybe some laughs. And this teacher only teaches the kids the lines that they are assigned in the show. If your child is the unlucky one, he/she might not even have opportunity to learn, to try, or to practice, but just sit on the back stage and watch. This teacher totally ruins the reputation of the UM Childcare Center. Definitely should avoid if they don't change the teacher.

    1. I rarely endorse childcare center "camps" as that is a whole other option. Thanks for the feedback though, that might be a good option for some but certainly not for a true theatre experience.
