Harvest Celebrations Around Town This Weekend

This weekend there are a couple note-worthy free events that celebrate the harvest season. that are appropriate for the entire family.

On Sunday, October 16, from 1:00-5:00 p.m., families can experience a harvest at Parker Mill (4650 Geddes Rd., Ann Arbor). Learn about how the grist operated or even try your hand at shelling corn. Families will also learn about wild nut harvesting and be able to taste several varieties of apples. Guided tours are given at 2:00 and 3:00 p.m. Pack a picnic and enjoy the event, then walk a few of the trails for a beautiful afternoon of education, celebration and enjoyment!

Ypsilanti's Harvest Festival is sure to
provide plenty of free entertainment
for the entire family. 
For another take on harvest-time fun, Ypsilanti's Depot Town (E. Cross St. and N. River St., Ypsilanti) is also playing host to a Harvest Festival from noon-5:00 p.m.

Families can revisit the past in historic depot town while enjoying a flea market, live entertainment, pumpkin carving, kids entertainment and Tow Mater from Cars!

  • - Magic Show noon - 2:00 p.m.
  • - Howl-O-Een Hound Doggie Costume Contest 2:00 p.m. check in
  • - Live music, face painting and pumpkin carving happening all day.
